The Heat got a lift on Monday night with Norman Powell returning to action, after missing three consecutive games due to a strained right groin. In his first return to Intuit Dome, where he played three and a half seasons, Powell helped Miami edge past the Clippers 120-119, closing down Kawhi Leonard effectively in the final moments of the game. Miami improves to 4-3 on the season, good enough to lead the Southeast Division.

Bam Adebayo top scored for the Heat with 25 points while pulling down 10 boards. Norman Powell added 21 points against his former team. Kel’el Ware came off the bench to score 16 points and had 5 rebounds as well. Miami was red hot from the field, shooting 54.2%. They also had 33 assists on the night and attacked the paint on offense, finishing with 58 points under the LA basket.
