Osaka Evessa Preview

Osaka Evessa would be happy with their back-to-back wins in the B. League. The Evessa recently snapped a seven-game losing streak after a win over Shimane Susanoo Magic. They added one more victory in the first of a two-game set against Toyama. Osaka held their nerves to beat the Grouses 104-102. They were outscored 21-36 in the final quarter but the early lead helped them to cross the line. Osaka now improved to 17-26 in the B. League 2025-26. Evessa will be taking on Toyama once again on Sunday. 

Osaka went 8-15 at home this season and snapped a four-game losing skid at home on Saturday. Evessa shot 45% from the floor and 35% from the 3-point line. They lost the rebounding battle 38-43. Defensively, they recorded four steals and three blocks. Osaka are averaging 80.1 points per game and allowing 82.3 points per game. They rank sixth in steals per game (7.7) and eighth in assists per game (21.3). 

Four players contributed in double figures. Ryan Luther was again the top scorer with a game-high 30 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Matt Bonds went for 21 points and 9 rebounds. Ray Parks and Seiga Sakamoto added 13 points each. Matt Bonds could be an offensive threat in the second game. The 30-year-old averaged 22.3 points in the 2025/26 season. He is on a 12-game streak in scoring double digits. We back Bonds to drop 20 or more points in the home fixture. 

Toyama Grouses Preview

Toyama Grouses’ disappointing run in the B League 2025/26 continues as they lost to Osaka in a close game. Despite conceding a 23-point lead, Toyama almost pulled off a heist with a fourth quarter brilliance. They outplayed Osaka 36-21 in the final period but fell short of two points. The Grouses extended their losing streak to four matches. They dropped 14 of the last 15 games in the regular season. Toyama now fell to 10-33 in the regular season. The Grouses will now take on Osaka for the final time on Sunday. 

Toyama lost to Osaka thrice this season, including two defeats at home. The Grouses are 6-17 on the road this season and are sitting at the bottom of Western Conference. They shot 48% from the floor and just 25% from the three-point line. They out-rebounded the opposition 43-38. Defensively, Toyama recorded six steals and two blocks. The Grouses are scoring 82.2 points per game and allowing 90.4 points per game. They rank fourth in rebounds per game (39.9) and eighth in steals per game (7.3). 

Five players stepped up for Toyama in double digits. Trey Kell led the scoring with 22 points, while Yuzo Okada went for 19 points. Brock Motum chipped in with 15 points. Yannis Morin contributed 14 points and 13 rebounds. NNKV Williams also added 13 points and nine rebounds. If we look for an offensive threat, Trey Kell is right up there. The guard averaged 22.7 points in the regular season and dropped 20 or more points five out of the last seven outings. We back him to score 20 or more points in the upcoming fixture.
