Teams Preview

Sweden Preview

Sweden are back in Estonia for the do-die fixture in the 2027 FIBA World Cup European Qualifiers. They dropped all three games in the qualifying round. They are the only team in Group H to not win a single game yet. They lost to Estonia in the first of a two-game set. Sweden will be eliminated if they lose one more game in the remaining three. They made into the round of 16 in the EuroBasket last year but looked sloppy with their shooting in World Cup qualifiers.

Sweden were shooting 93% from the floor and 88% from the three-point line. It was an impressive performance in the offense but still, not better than Estonia. They rank seventh in the field goal percentage (46.1%) and eight in the three-points made per game (11). Despite great offensive numbers, Sweden didn’t open their account in the group stage. Defense is the big reason behind their poor show as they allowed 93 points on average. They are also averaging 15.3 turnovers per game in the European qualifiers.

Ludde Hakanson was again the top performer for the hosts in the last game with a team-high 21 points. Melwin Pantzar went for 16 points, while Pierre Hampton chipped in with 13 points and seven rebounds. Bagala also contributed 10 points off the bench. Hakanson could be an offensive threat in the road fixture. The Badalona guard averaged 23.3 in the European qualifiers, including one 30-point outburst. We back Hakanson to score 25 points in the upcoming fixture against Estonia.

Czechia Preview

The Czech Republic faced a major setback in the road game against Slovenia where they suffered a 99-59 loss. The 40-point blowout defeat gave them big questions ahead of crucial ties in the 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifiers. Czechia recently beat Estonia and started the campaign with a victory over Sweden. However, the blowout loss won’t harm their chances for the next round qualification, thanks to Sweden’s poor form. Three teams will qualify for the next round. Czech failed to win a single game in the EuroBasket last year.

The Czech scored just 25 points in the second half and conceded a game-high 43 point lead. Czechia were shooting 31% from the floor and 28% from the three-point line. They were the best offensive side in the European qualifiers but their scoring average dropped from 97 PPG to 84.3. They have allowed 90.3 points in the qualifying round. They are back to their EuroBasket form. The Czech would eye a comeback victory to gain confidence.

Slight changes were made in the lineup as Tomas Satoransky missed this game. In his absence, Tomas Kyzlink led the scoring with 18 points. Richad Balint went for 10 points, while Peterka added 10 rebounds. Kyzlink should be an offensive threat in this game. The Beijing Fighters guard averaged 12 points in the qualifying round. We back him to score a double-double in this home fixture.

SWEDEN vs CZECHIA

Czech head into the road contest as the favourites to win this match due to their better offense and current record against European sides.
