Utah Jazz Preview
After failing to qualify for the playoffs with a 31-51 record during the 2023-24 season the Utah Jazz were hoping to have a strong start to this season and qualify for the playoffs this time around but after nine games into the season the Jazz seem to be further off their initial expectations as they currently have a record of 2 wins and 7 losses and sit dead last in the Western Conference standings.
Having started their season with back-to-back losses at home versus the Memphis Grizzlies and the Golden State Warriors the Utah side were already in a huge predicament during this period as they conceded an average of 126.5 points in their opening two games while only scoring an average of 105 points themselves.
These losses seemed to have predicted their form for this season as the Jazz then went on to lose their next four fixtures against the likes of the Dallas Mavericks, the Sacramento Kings, the San Antonio Spurs and the Denver Nuggets which left them with a 0-6 record which at the time was the worst record in the league so far.
During this period the Salt Lake side also recorded a huge number of points against them as they conceded 142.2 points per game while their offensive output lacked much guile as they only scored an average of 99.8 points per game and sat dead last in terms of points differential as well.
Despite this horrendous start the Jazz finally picked up their pace during their visit to Illinois as they recorded their first win of the season against the Chicago Bulls in a 135-126 victory during which Keyonte George was the star of the night as he scored 33-points and had 9 assists.
However, this victory celebration didn’t last long as in their very next game against the Milwaukee Bucks the Jazz were blown away with a 23-point lead and took home the win despite a close first half display. Although they sit dead last in their conference the Jazz have won their last game against the San Antonio Spurs and will be looking to keep this run going as they host the Phoenix Suns in their next game.

Phoenix Suns Preview
While the Utah Jazz have been struggling for form the Phoenix Suns on the other hand have been flying high this season as after an 8-2 record in their first 10-games the Arizona side currently sits on top of the Western Conference alongside the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Golden State Warriors all of whom have the same record as the Suns at the time of writing.
Having begun the season with a victory over the Los Angeles Clippers the Suns then remained in the state of California for their second fixture as the were hosted by the Los Angeles Lakers but in an opposite result to their opening game the Suns succumbed to a 123-116 defeat and started their season with a 1-1 record.
After starting their season on the road, the Suns then returned to the Footprint Center for their next two fixtures as they hosted the reigning Western Conference champions in their first home game and defeated them by a score of 114-102 before avenging their second game loss to the Lakers by defeating them by 4-points in their fourth game of the season.
This 3-1 record then set the tone for the early half of the season for the Suns side who then went on a five-game unbeaten streak defeating the Clippers at the Inuit Dome once again before beating the likes of the Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings and the Miami Heat at home and beating the Dallas Mavericks once again on the road before finally ending their 7-game unbeaten streak by losing to the Sacramento Kings at home by a score of 127-118 in overtime.

UTAH JAZZ vs PHOENIX SUNS
Winning PredictionWhile the Utah Jazz are at home and should be having the home advantage their run of form at home this season has actually been dismal as both their wins this season has come away from home and are yet to win a singe game at the Delta Center so far this season. On top of their home form, they currently have the worst offensive record in the league and will find it difficult to score against a well drilled Suns side. The Phoenix side should take the victory but given that the Jazz are 2-1 in their last three fixtures they will be confident in getting the first win of the season come Tuesday.
