Leeds United vs Crystal Palace Match Prediction & Analysis

For the second straight Matchweek, Leeds United will welcome Premier League action at Elland Road, this time against a struggling Crystal Palace side. After an impressive win over Newcastle United last time out, the Whites will be looking to repeat the trick and make home advantage count again.

Palace, meanwhile, will be eager to put their disappointing defeat to Ipswich Town behind them. The Eagles can take confidence from their previous away outing, a win over Fulham, as they look to rediscover that form on the road.

Current Standings: Leeds United are currently sitting pretty at the third spot in the table with eight points, while Palace are struggling at the 16th position with just three points.

Head-to-Head Record: From 14 previous meetings, it’s almost been an even tug-of-war with Leeds winning six and Palace five, while three have ended in draws.

Teams Preview

Leeds United Preview

Leeds United finally secured their first home league win of the season last time out, dismantling Newcastle United 4-1. After letting winning positions slip in previous games, the Whites made sure there was no repeat, racing into a 3-0 lead before finishing the job. The result also made Leeds the only home side to win on MD4.

An own goal opened the scoring before Jayden Bogle, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor completed the rout. The victory extended Leeds’ unbeaten start to four games (W2 D2), their best beginning to a top-flight campaign since 2001-02 under David O’Leary.

Calvert-Lewin could also make history against Palace, with the striker chasing a sixth consecutive home league game with a goal, a feat last achieved by Arthur Hydes in 1932.

Since last December, only Erling Haaland, Ollie Watkins and Joao Pedro have scored more than  Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s 14 top-flight goals.

Leeds have lost just one of their last 13 Premier League matches.

The Whites have scored at least a goal in their last nine games in all competitions against Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace Preview

Crystal Palace suffered a heartbreaking defeat last time out, going down 3-2 to newly promoted Ipswich Town. For the second game running, the Eagles were involved in a five-goal thriller, but this time they ended up on the wrong side of the scoreline.

After Anan Khalaili put Palace ahead in the 14th minute, their task became harder when Axel Disasi was sent off before half-time. Ipswich took advantage to lead 2-1, although Palace fought back through Strand Larsen, only to concede the winner in the 90th minute.

The defeat leaves Palace with three losses and 11 goals conceded, highlighting their defensive struggles. They did, however, respond in midweek by thrashing Lech Poznan in the Europa League, with the clean sheet offering Pierre Sage a much-needed positive.

Crystal Palace have conceded two or more goals in their last ten Premier League games.

Palace have won just once in their last 11 Premier League games.

Palace have conceded the most goals in competition after four matchdays and have recorded the worst xGA (8.15).

LEEDS UNITED vs CRYSTAL PALACE

Winning Prediction

Leeds United have been difficult to beat at Elland Road, going unbeaten in their last six Premier League home games with four wins and two draws. Crystal Palace, meanwhile, have lost four of their last six league away games, managing just one victory in that run.

Palace also have painful memories of their last visit to Elland Road, where they were thrashed 4-1. With Leeds carrying the stronger home form and greater confidence, the hosts look well placed to claim another three points.

Likewise, the bookmakers see Leeds United  as firm favourites to win the contest too, pricing a win for the hosts at 1.78, while Palace’s at 4.30, and a draw at 3.80.
