Despite sitting in fifth place the Brooklyn Nets have been quite unconvincing this season as while they are in the playoff places at the time of writing it isn’t at all a cemented spot with the side from the big apple having played two extra games to the Miami Heat and the New York Knicks who are sitting in sixth and seventh respectively and could easily dethrone the Nets if they are to win one of their two games in hand. 

Having been heavily inconsistent in their results the Brooklyn side will be hoping to do better as the season progresses as after starting their season with two back-to-back defeats at the hands of the Atlanta Hawks and the Orlando Magic it seemed as if the Nets would be down and out before May.

But a win in their third game to the Milwaukee Bucks restored some faith to their season but in proper Nets fashion the side lost in overtime to the Denver Nuggets and started their season with 1 win in 4 games. This abysmal start did seem to get better after their fifth game though as they traveled to Memphis to face the Grizzlies and recorded their first away win of the season before a home win to the Chicago Bulls ensured that they recorded their first back-to-back wins of this season.  

Although this run was supposed to last longer the Nets then lost their next game to the struggling Detroit Pistons and showed their inconsistency once more as they did get another win over the Grizzlies before losing back-to-back games to the conference leaders in the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics. Now on a 1-game win streak after a win in Louisiana against the New Orleans Pelicans the Nets will be hoping to make a statement against the Celtics as they host the reigning champions for the second time in five days.

While the Brooklyn Nets have been inconsistent with their performances the Boston Celtics on the other hand have been quite the opposite as the reigning champions have started this season as they mean to go on with many experts already predicting that the Massachusetts side will go on to win back-to-back titles this season and their performances so far does portray the same. Despite sitting second in the Eastern Conference with the Cleveland Cavaliers currently going on an insane run in the East, the Boston Celtics have already cemented themselves as being above the rest in their conference as no side a part from the Cavaliers have won as many games in the division so far and if not for the team from Ohio the Celtics would have had the best record in the NBA at the time of writing.

Having started the season with four victories in a row the Celtics then lost their first game of the season against the Indiana Pacers in overtime before three wins in a row against the Atlanta Hawks and the Charlotte Hornets put them back on track to achieve their two-peat goals and left them with a 7-1 record in eight games.

This run however came to an end against the Golden State Warriors in a close encounter at the TD Gardens but the Celtics side showed their metal once again in the next two games as they beat the Nets in a close overtime encounter before blowing the Bucks away at home with a 113-107 victory. Whilst they have another home game before traveling down to New York the Celtics will be hoping to keep in close proximity to the Cleveland Cavaliers as they look to top the Eastern Conference once again this season.
