Teams Preview
Detroit Pistons Preview
Despite having lost 28 consecutive games and tying the record for the most consecutive losses in the NBA during the 2023-24 season, the Detroit Pistons still managed to win two of their first three games during that season which is far better than what they have managed to do this year as the team lost their first four fixtures in a row before finally managing to grab a win against the Philadelphia 76ers in their last fixture.
This win against the 76ers was monumental to say the least as the Pistons would have gone five games without a win if they hadn’t and that would have put immeasurable pressure on the players as they would have been under huge scrutiny for their performances so far.
Having conceded 114.5 points per game on an average during that time while only scoring 106.5 points per game themselves the Pistons were on a horrible run and will be glad that they are past it now as they have finally managed a win after defeating the Philadelphia 76ers by a scoreline of 105-95. Former 76ers man Tobias Harris was one of the main catalysts in the Pistons emphatic win as the star scored 18 points while also collecting 14 boards on the night.
This win will be a ray of hope in an otherwise underwhelming season and many Pistons faithful will be hoping that this victory will bring about a shift in their gears as they look to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in years. While their season so far has been dominated by ill luck and misfortune there are few positives that the Pistons faithful can root about with the emergence of Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey being one of the biggest motivating factors for the team.
New York Knicks Preview
While the Detroit Pistons have suffered a damning start to their season the New York Knicks haven’t had it any better as while they are not with a 4-1 record, they have managed to lose two of their first four games which by their standards is quite abysmal to say the least.
Despite boasting a team with the likes of Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart and the new additions of Mikal Bridges and Karl Anthony Towns the Knicks haven’t had a start that they would have expected and are currently in fifth place in the Eastern conference rankings which isn’t as bad as their opponents but still way off their initial expectations. Losing their first game of the season to current champions the Boston Celtics the Knicks then won their second game against the Pacers in a dominant fashion in a game where they kept Indiana star Tyrese Haliburton to a grand total score of 0 points.
While this was supposed to be a start to an unbeaten stretch, they unfortunately lost the very next game to the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Madison Square Gardens and then followed that up with a win against the Miami Heat as they beat the Florida team by 9-points in a game where they came alive in the second half.
Having found themselves down and out in the first half the Knicks rallied back into the game with the help of a superb 44-point performance by new signing Karl Anthony Towns and took home the win against the Heat which will hopefully kick off a winning trend which they hope to continue against the Detroit Pistons.

DETROIT PISTONS vs NEW YORK KNICKS
Winning PredictionWith both teams hoping to start a winning run with a dub on Friday it will be interesting to see how the Knicks fare against a low-lying Pistons side in Detroit. While the Pistons will be hopeful of having the home advantage the Knicks will be the favorites during this match up and should get the win especially if they continue to score for fun like they have in recent games.
